An extraordinary event for extraordinary people.

The word on most people’s lips right now is Witchcamp. After an extensive social medial campaign and weeks of hard work behind the scenes to finally make this a reality, both Coven of the Crossroads and Coven of the Dark Moon Crescent are proud to bring you, Witchcamp 2018. The much anticipated event that will take place in Randfontien on 3 and 4 November 2018.

Witchcamp is the brainchild of Leanne Middleton, High Priestess and founder of Coven of the Crossroads. After finding a sizable gap in the Pagan community, her idea was to find a platform where teachers and students of all paths and traditions could come together and share in a weekend of learning, community, spirituality and magick. From the beginner to the advanced, all would be welcome to share in this event and learn the basic skills of magic, working with the elements, movement, sound and the mythological and historical framework of various craft traditions.

Leanne says that she hopes that going forward, this event will be a highlight on the Pagan event calendar. This year the event will showcase two days of path-workings, teaching and crafting, culminating on Saturday evening with a spectacular public Beltane ritual, potentially the largest public ritual we have seen for many years.

It has been with passion and enthusiasm that Leanne has planned this event, knocking on every door, rapping at every window in an attempt to secure teachers and vendors for a successful event.

With hard work done and excitement building, Witchcamp got the green light from many talented teachers. Some of the classes presented at Witchcamp 2018 offer all students on a spiritual path, the chance to apply the tools of ritual to personal healing and empowerment, or a focus on taking the Craft out into the world in an attempt to once again, ignite the passions of our magickal kin into practicing their respective crafts.

The secure environment that Witchcamp offers lends itself to enriching the overall experience. This camp offers a chance to gain new skills and hone and sharpen old ones, offering a broad base of speakers such as the renowned occultist, Jacques Artgraven.

Jacques Artgraven has been teaching and practicing for over 20 years in most eastern and western systems, and is mostly known for his work in Spiritualism, Tantra, Occultism, Mysticism, Shamanism and Magick. He is a spiritual medium, NLP master and Hypnotist, film maker, producer and artist as well as recognized technomancer, and creator of the Secret Science as taught in the Order of Sacred Lights.

Another respected and experienced occultist, Professor Frederick Veldman, will present two workshops; an in-depth workshop on Luciferian Philosophy, and The Pythagorean Number System: a practical and easy way to overcome and manage obstacles in your life.

One of our very respected Wiccan leaders, Ruan Fourier, will be presenting a workshop on Circles of Power. Ruan is an Alexandrian Priest and Witch, and the founder of the Derby Coven, the first Alexandrian and Traditional Wiccan Coven in South Africa. Fourier has been involved in the Craft and the Occult for 20 years and has been initiated, consecrated and dedicated to the work and the circle of Witchcraft in Boston, Massachusetts. Ruan will be doing talks on Traditional Wicca and Alexandrian Craft.

Mel Horn, an experienced Occultist, who with her husband, runs the ‘Mystic Shop’ in Westdene, will be presenting a Past Life Regression, and a Manifestation workshop, both of which are not to be missed.

Francois Wiese, from Gnosis Crystal shop in Bloemfontein, will be hosting two crystal healing workshops during Witchcamp; Chakra Healing, and Unconditional Love and Compassion healing. Both these healing workshops will be formatted to promote love and compassion within ourselves so that our own personal healing can take place. Francois is a qualified crystal healer.

Anne Marie Jansen will be hosting The Sacred Feminine workshop – during this workshop she will guide you on a journey of healing through meditation, trance work, talking and sharing, and finally emerging into the light of the perfection that is you. Anne Marie will also be guiding us through a Sigil magick workshop, where we explore the deeper mysteries and power of sigils in modern magick.

Moria and Lez Chalken, from Coven of the Dark Moon Crescent, will be hosting a Wheel of the Year workshop where you can discover the rhythms and intricate workings of the cycle of the year within yourself. Dark Moon Crescent students will be hosting several craft workshops, such as the making of dream-catchers, as well as an athame making workshop for the avid craftsman. Don’t forget the Sunrise Surya Namaskar Yoga on both Saturday and Sunday mornings.

A highly trained fire keeper will be hosting a Sweat-lodge on both Saturday and Sunday, experience your very own bone reading done by iSangoma’s Khyle Pretorius and Karen Dismore, and participate in Shuveny Bower’s Planetary Influences workshop.

Our very own heavy metal drummer Riaan Ondier Els will be hosting a drumming circle, where we can sit and enjoy the magick and vibration of the drum, as we drum to the beat of our souls. If you have your own drum, feel free to bring it with and join in.

Also at Witchcamp, the resident Unicorn, who will be entertaining everyone with rides, and DMC will be hosting a rip roaring game of Quidditch for the adventurous at heart.

Along with all the learning and festivities there will be vendors selling something for everyone, from robes to runes, incenses to oils, and poppets to crystals, on both days.

There will be a beer tent where a craft beer vendor will be selling his finest to the thirsty folks, along with a variety of food stalls where you are sure to find something that will tickle your fancy, food wise. There will also be braai fires burning during lunch time as well as early evening, should you care to bring your own food for the weekend.

Because this camp runs over two days, Moira and Lez, from Coven of the Dark Moon Crescent, have kindly offered their plot in Randfontien as the venue. Due to the size of this plot, we are able to offer a venue where students and teachers can camp overnight, enjoy the festivities and not feel the pressure of having to end the celebration early to head home. A secure camping area, security and clean serviced ablution facilities will be catered for, however shower facilities will not be available.

The cost of the camp is R600.00 for a weekend visitor – this cost covers camping facilities as well as entrance to Beltane and the post ritual feast, and any of the free classes on offer. R300.00 for a day only visitor will provide entrance for the day, entrance to Beltane and the post ritual feast, as well as any of the free classes on offer.

Some of the workshops do however carry an entrance cost, but we can assure you that the cost is nominal in order to remain affordable.  For these workshops you will receive all notes, crystals, and books related to and used during the class.

All this in one camp? Yes, why not!  We call to all, near and far, to come and join us on the 3rd and 4th of November, to share the connection to the spiritual, a sense of community, and to just have a jolly good time.

Please check out our Facebook page at Coven of the Crossroads or our website at www.covenofthecrossroads.co.za for more information on this event.

We look forward to seeing you there.
