We have a universe within ourselves
“…We dream of traveling through the universe – but is not the universe within ourselves? The depths of our spirit are unknown to us – the mysterious way leads inwards. Eternity with its worlds – the past and future – is in ourselves or nowhere. The external world is the world of shadows – it throws its shadow into the realm of light…” (Novalis, from ‘Miscellaneous Observations’, 1798)
Since the beginning of time we have explored every aspect of this physical world. We try to explore as far as the furthest reaches of space, or on a quantum level where everything is so minute that it will take a lot of time and effort to find the answers that we are looking for, if we will ever find it. We have satellites on every continent searching through images, signals and sound waves looking for intelligent life that originate from somewhere else.
We never stop searching; we keep on looking for the one thing that eludes us. It does not matter that we do not know what that thing is, the act of searching is in a way enough for us to keep us going. Maybe we are programmed to carry on searching on whatever level we choose, making sense of all the things we discover along the way. Probably some of the most useful discoveries will be made without trying to discover anything, falling into our lap as a reward for trying.
We are hungry, constantly looking for more never satisfied. Do we know where we are going or why we are searching so adamantly? Why do we have this hunger? I can see the same thing happening with money minded people. The more money they have, the more money they want, engaging in an evil circle that will eventually be self-consuming.
I recently had a phone discussion with a woman who trained under Peruvian shamans in Peru. She was ordained as a priest and given the ability to walk between worlds. After that she became involved with Reiki and worked with some very influential people. She also tried a lot of other spiritual systems. She went into spirituality because as a child she could see spiritual beings with the physical eye, she had natural talent. She said that she actually felt bad telling me: “I probably didn’t have to do so many things, but it felt like nothing ever worked for me.” As talented as she was, she was always looking for the answers outside of herself. Whenshe realised there was nothing more external to gain from a system she moved to another system instead of then transcending to explore the inner worlds. And with time it felt to her that all her spiritual abilities, even her psychic ability disappeared.
We make the mistake of looking too physically at things, thinking that everything takes place on a concrete level. Some of us even go so far as to travel to places like India to find a guru or spiritual teacher, not realising that wehave a whole universe inside of us.We have the power to access a guru from within. Everything that happened in the past can be accessed through the inner planes. It is like the world’s memories are stored in a place where we all can go to; we just need to take the time to learn the way. When we find the way to get there it becomes the same as riding a bicycle. In that place we will meet gurus, masters, and wonderful beings from different places. We will see that we are not the only intelligent beings and that we have been visited by “them” since the beginning of time. In that universe we can travel faster than the speed of light and we can make anything happen.
The system or religion we follow serve as the base from where we start our expedition into the unknown. I chose Paganism; and within it I have found many access points from where I can view the universe within. We need to start living by realising that we are in control of our destiny that we are travelers into the farthest reaches of ourselves
The Swiss Psychologist Carl Gustav Jung (July 26, 1875, Kesswil, – June 6, 1961, Küsnacht) dedicated a large part of his life to understand and explain the psychic worlds. He said “Your vision will become clear only when you look into your heart. Who looks outside, dreams. Who looks inside, awakens.”
Where do we go to from here? What is the next step? How do we access the universe within? We all have the natural ability to open the doors but we have been kept from realising that by a society that places a lot of value on the material. We have the power to awake.
