Issue No. 46 - April 2010
CURRENT ISSUE

Editor's Letter

Ceremonies, celebrations and protests, that's the theme of this issue. Teacher and author Michael Berman (PhD) explores the Pagan Religious Practices Of The Chechens And The Ingush, and Morgause Fonteleve interviews a South African Nyanga (traditional herbalist) who claims to use both human and animal body parts in Strong Muti & Harm Ye None: Two Worlds Apart.

Penton features three extra-ordinary Pagan artists, Richard Davis, Luke Martin, and Penton's very own columnist Morgause Fonteleve. We hope to feature many more Pagan artists across a wide variety of mediums in future issues, so if you're interested in having your work featured, please contact me.

Media saturation ahead of the 2010 FIFA World Cup won't eclipse this year's Pagan Freedom Day events, at least not for Pagans. I'll be joining Garden Route Witches and other Pagans at Joplin's for dinner and entertainment. If you're in Johannesburg, Nelspruit or Durban, why not go along to the local events. You won't be disappointed.

The South African Pagan Rights Alliance and the South African Pagan Council are sponsoring the third annual
30 days of advocacy against witch-hunts from 29 March to 27 April. This year's campaign is supported by the Correllian Nativist Tradition (U.S. & S.A.), Pagan Federation International and Pagan Federation England & Wales.

I'd like to encourage Penton's readers to support this campaign by visiting the campaign's Facebook page to confirm your attendance. Please sign this petition and actively participate by asking everyone you know to do the same. Facebook users have been asked to copy the campign banner and place it on their website or blog.
